The objective of the Medical Office Information Technology Program is to prepare students to manage electronic information within the office and to assist others with current and emerging technology. Students will be able to function as multi-skilled medical practitioners with advanced knowledge of insurance codes, medical billing practices, medical transcription and practical medical office administration skills. Graduates of this comprehensive program will have the knowledge and skills to obtain an entry-level position in various areas of the medical field, such as Medical Front Office, Insurance Supervisor, Medical Insurance Clerk, Business Office Manager, and Medical Billing/Transcription Clerk.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
Students will experience a blend of classroom theory and hands-on computer laboratory training that will enable them to quickly grasp the special requirements of medical information management. In addition, students will have the opportunity to participate in a Medical Office Information Technology Externship program.
